Wouldn't club owners know more about the security of their club then an outside entity?

Yes, and they should know more about the security of their club.  However, because each situation is or can be unique it is possible that we could customize the information that we provide in a way that will work for their particular venue.

Wouldn't big burly people always make a better candidate as a Bouncer?

Yes, and no.  We like the protection of a big burly Bouncer just as the next guy.  But when you see a big burly Bouncer your immediate thoughts are negative and physical.  Patrons are humans and should be treat as one.  BouncerOnline believes that nightclub security has changed over the years because the patrons demands it to.  Take a look at our Bouncer News articles, it's not a pretty sight.  Providing Good Customer Service without intimidation is The Art of Nightclub Security.

What makes BouncerOnline different from those other websites, DVD's or books that claim to train Bouncers?

A great deal of research was conducted just before BouncerOnline hit the internet.  It was determined that many nightclubs were facing lawsuits, losing their liquor licenses and closing up for good.  The main reasons were the lack of security, security procedures and the lack of security training.  We could not locate one website, DVD or book on nightclub security that mentions "Customer Service."

Why do some club owners and Bouncers feel that they do not need training to handle the undesirable patrons?

Lack of being serious about the security of their club and their job.  Bouncers are not given a high score on intelligence to begin with.  This gives the impression that we are not worth training or trainable.  This needs to change.

Why do Bouncers put on the tough guy attitude?

We like to think that life isn't that bad, but mostly it is a display of intimidation.  Intimidating patrons to start a fight, to avoid a fight or to not handle a situation intelligently is the best way that the tough guy can thinks that he is in control. Being a Bouncer is fun easy work.  It's the one's with the attitudes that find it hard to do.

Is it possible to have a career as a Bouncer?

It depends on your lifestyle.  Some people are happy just being a security guard at a bank, others are happier being a police officer.  Becoming a successful Bouncer will definitely put you in the mind set of the security and law enforcement field.  You may find yourself meeting a lot of different patrons while working as a bouncer, with different careers themselves.  If the nightclub industry has nothing to offer you, befriending a patron could help open up other doors for you.

I see and hear about Bouncers always getting into fights.  Is that the only thing they're good for?

Many nightclubs are being forced to change the way that their security staff operates.  Unfortunately there are still so-called Bouncers out there who think that getting into fights is all we do.  A Bouncer's responsibility has changed over the years.  Provided that you have a club owner that has realized that the image is not going to change within their club.  However, it's good to say that many club owners do realize that there is more to a Bouncer then mass and muscles.
