Bouncers Making $300 In Tips

Before we discuss how some Bouncers are making $300 in tips, lets first understand what a "Tip" is.

BribeThe word "TIP" is actually an acronym meaning To Insure Promptness'. When a patron approaches the bar and orders a drink from the bartender most of the time he is watching what type of liquor the bartender is putting into his glass. Being the cheap or expensive liquor, this could be one of the factors how much the patron would tip the bartender. If the patron feels that the bartender did not put enough liquor in his glass, this would usually cause a smaller tip if any.

Waitresses are tip differently. Number one, the more attractive they are the bigger the tip. Experience waitresses may add a little flirting with the patron because they know it also produces bigger tips. But most of all, if the waitress is providing that customer service and is walking up to the patron asking if they would like something to drink, or if they would like another drink produces tips as well.

Patrons who tip do it because they feel as if they are being treated differently  than anyone else in the club. The ideal of not waiting in line to get into the club or to get a drink is worth a few bucks to the patron.

Every employee in the club, including the owner are aware that Bouncers also receive tips from patrons if the patron is escorted to their vehicle or looked after while they are in the club to ensure that they are having a goodtime, (kind of a VIP service).

But let's talk about the tips that Bouncers receive that no one is aware of except the Bouncer and the patron. By the way, patrons assume that Bouncers are paid minimum wage, along with not having the competence to do anything else except stand at the door looking angry. So if they tip a Bouncer $5 or $10 they feel that the Bouncer must really appreciate the generous offer. Actually, every Bouncer should feel insulted at an offer so low.

Patrons waiting in line due to the clubs' selective procedures or due to the holding of the line to indicate a popular looking club, have been waiting for several minutes to an hour to get into the club. As you walk the line towards the end, patrons are attempting to get you attention. They ask you "Are you letting any more people in" "How much longer" or "What's the hold up."

Anyone of those patrons would be willing to offer you a tip to get them inside or to the front of the line, or enter as your guest. Inexperienced Bouncers or newly hired Bouncers may not accept any tip offers for obvious reasons. Bouncers with experience or who have been employed with a club for a long period of time may accept the tip offer but discreetly.

Patrons desperately seeking to get into a club with their date by their side, or with a group of people seem to offer bigger tips. For one, they want to impress the people whom their with by throwing a little money around, and two they want to quickly show them a goodtime before the date gets bored.

Clubs that are very popular and hard to get into produce patrons who offer huge tips as well. These patron know that they may never get in due to the way they look, dress or act.

Patrons who have achieved VIP status within the club (celebrities excluded) usually have their own section in the club that only offers access to them and the rest of their party. The Bouncers job would be to keep other patrons out of their section and to look over them. Clear their table, watch their belongings, it's what they expect because they spend sooooo much money on drinks. But in turn they will tip you very well.

As there are tips to be had outside the club and inside the club, are Bouncers taking profit away from the club? Just because a patron continues to buy drinks throughout the night and continues to tip the Bouncers, some club owners believe that profits are being lost.

Patrons who tip big outside the club rarely continue to purchase drinks from the bar. The male objective is to get into club in hopes to meet a female counterpart, maybe by her a drink and then get her phone number. Females objective is to get into the club in hopes of someone buying her drinks then dance with her girlfriends for the rest of the night.

Whether or not the Bouncer has accepted a tip from a patron to get them into the club without paying the cover charge then profits are being lost.  Before you start making that extra money from tips you should ask the club owner or general manager what their policy is on Bouncers accepting tips from their patrons.

Most club owner did indicate that if they were a Bouncer and was offered a $20 tip or more for the reasons mentioned above, they would take it.
