A man shot
another man in the head Friday outside a bar in Sherman Oaks
and fled, police said.
The shooting
occurred about 2 a.m. outside Smiles Nightclub on Ventura
Boulevard near Woodman Avenue, said Sgt. S. Nunez of the Los
Angeles Police Department's Van Nuys Station.
The wounded
man was hospitalized in serious condition, said LAPD Officer
April Harding.
A preliminary
report by police that two men were wounded when a gun fell
and discharged during a scuffle between them was inaccurate,
Harding said.
The suspect,
in his 20s, was inside the club with another man and a woman
before the shooting, and security cameras captured his
image, which was released by police, Fox11 reported.
A motive for
the shooting was unknown.
