Woman arrested in shoe attack at club

A central Florida woman has been arrested after allegedly hitting a nightclub security guard with a shoe.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says 23-year-old Karen Cruz of Bartow was arrested early Sunday after getting in an argument at El Rodeo Tejano in Tampa.

Authorities say club security broke up the argument, but Cruz then grabbed a shoe and hit a guard in the face, opening an inch-long cut. She was charged with aggravated battery, but is free on bond.

It's not known if she has an attorney.
