A middle-aged dad strangled his 21-year-old lover in a jealous rage after she dumped him for a younger man, a murder trial heard yesterday.

Bouncer Phillip Packer, 50, then drove Jenna Thomas's body to a police station and showed with his hands how he killed her, it was alleged.

The dad of two is said to have told officers: "We have argued and argued all day and I strangled her."

He and Jenna moved in together in 2007 when she was 19 and he was 47. But the two-year relationship was marred by rows, prosecutor Peter Griffiths QC told Cardiff crown court.

Mr Griffiths said: "The defendant appeared to be even more controlling of what Jenna could or could not do in his absence."
