Thomas Robinson apologizes for spitting on bouncer; battery charges dismissed

apologized for spitting on a bouncer during an April altercation at the Cave nightclub in Lawrence.

The Lawrence Journal-World reported that though the bouncer didn't want to press charges, Robinson completed 20 hours of community service and wrote the letter.

I hope that you can forgive me for this serious lapse of judgment," Robinson wrote. "I am very embarrassed about my behavior that night. I now realize that you have a difficult job, and Im sorry for making it tougher that evening.

Robinson was cited for misdemeanor battery. Early reports were that two bouncers were punched. But the Journal-World reported that further investigation revealed that Robinson had spit on the bouncer.
